Every venue is scored out of 100 based on four weighted signals:
- Review Velocity (30/100): Text reviews >50 chars in last 90 days. Formula: min(30, count / 50 * 30)
- Baseline Rating (25/100): (rating - 4.0) * 25, clamped 0-25. Minimum 4.0 stars to qualify.
- Review Recency (25/100): Text reviews in last 30 days with weighted decay (7d=1.0, 14d=0.8, 21d=0.5, 30d=0.3)
- GBP Profile (20/100): Google Business Profile completeness (phone, website, hours, description >50 chars)

Reviews written in the venue’s local language are weighted more heavily — they signal a genuine local following.
Only independent restaurants and bars qualify. No chains, franchises, or food courts.
Rankings recalculated monthly. Star-only and short junk reviews do NOT count — substantive text reviews (>50 characters) drive the score.
