About Bathwick Boatman
Bathwick Boatman is a Modern European restaurant nestled on the banks of the Avon in Walcot, Bath—a setting that reviewers consistently describe as a "beautiful gem" and "gorgeous" riverside retreat. The kitchen delivers quality produce across a fixed menu (2–3 courses) anchored by a celebrated Sunday roast: beef, pork, and fish arrive hot and carefully cooked, with house-made puddings (notably ginger) earning particular praise. The wine and beer selection supports the menu without pretension. Staff are the beating heart of the experience—described as "exceptional," "attentive," and "friendly," with ownership that visibly cares about every table. Wheelchair accessibility is comprehensive (entrance, parking, restroom, seating), and the split-level design mixes intimate corners with open sightlines, so diners feel both welcomed into a community and afforded privacy. Open Thursday–Sunday for lunch and dinner, with catering available. Free parking (lot and street) removes friction for visitors exploring Bath's outskirts.

What Customers Say
This restaurant is the cutest, warm, friendly and homely place, right on the river with the most gorgeous quaint views. The beef roast was gorgeous but the real star was the ginger pudding, I swear I've been dreaming about it ever since.
Absolutely love this place - the staff are very attentive, service is spot on, the seating, indoor and outdoor is not overcrowded and is a great mix of comfortable pub v restaurant v bistro esque. The food is absolutely amazing!
We had an excellent meal, the fish, cheesecake and cheese were 5 star quality. The service was so well done and friendly.
