About The Fairfield Arms
The Fairfield Arms is a neighbourhood pub in Walcot that has found new momentum under fresh ownership since November 2025. The team—Bradley, Tara, and Colin—have rebuilt the venue around proper homemade cooking and genuine hospitality. Sunday roasts anchor the menu: tender beef, roast potatoes, parsnips, and Yorkshire pudding in three portion sizes, with vegetables served separately. Steak and ale pie, fish and chips (Friday nights, all homemade), and Field boxes (barbecue with South African inflection) earn consistent praise for flavour and value. The drinks list spans well-kept ales—Butcombe and Wainwrights feature prominently—plus a curated wine selection and cider. The space itself balances cosiness: a roaring log fire, a large sunny garden, and a welcoming atmosphere that draws families, locals, and celebration groups alike. Trivia nights and karaoke add rhythm to the week. Staff are attentive and friendly, and the owners visibly engage with regulars and guests. At £20–30, it sits comfortably in the mid-range for Bath dining.

My family agrees that the steak and ale pie, along with several other dishes here, (the chicken curry and rice was fantastic too) is among the best we've had anywhere in the UK. With friendly service, a cosy atmosphere, and a true local gem, we cannot rave enough about the Fairfield Arms.

Fish and chip night on Fridays - all homemade and very good. Sunday roasts in various sizes to suit anyone's appetite, all excellent. It's becoming a great local again.
