So this is my second visit to Italiana 55 this week - and both were amazing, served by the warm and welcoming George (and his young daughter, Carmen, who was a delight). Three of us tonight, and we had the lasagna (enthused over), the vegetarian risotto al fungi (with truffle oil - yum!) and a huge chicken parmigiana (enough left for lunch tomorrow). We had a lovely evening: and we'll be back!Google review · P.R. · verbatim | ||

Didsbury FAQs
Italiana Fifty Five Didsbury is currently the top spot, and for good reason. They do proper Italian food, the kind that makes you wonder why you've settled for less. Their pasta dishes are consistently well-executed, offering real flavour without unnecessary frills.
The Wild Alderman on School Lane does the job fine if you want a proper pint and somewhere you can actually hear yourself think. But if you're chasing atmosphere with a bit more energy, FOLK. on Wilmslow Road's where the crowd gathers and the drinks list doesn't disappoint.
Didsbury has a decent spread. You'll find excellent Italian at Italiana Fifty Five Didsbury and Olio Didsbury, diverse Indian options at Sangam Didsbury and Bardez Didsbury, and Thai food at Ek’s Kitchen Didsbury. There's also Middle Eastern fare at Levant Elixir of Co-Existence Restaurant and modern British at The Three Quarters kitchen.
Yes, you can definitely find a good spot. Hispi offers a nice bistro setting that feels a bit special without being stuffy. For something a bit more intimate and unique, Levant Elixir of Co-Existence Restaurant on Didsbury Road provides a quieter atmosphere for a memorable evening.
For a good, honest meal that won't empty your wallet, places like The Didsbury pub offer solid pub grub for around £12-£15 a main. If you're looking for breakfast, Hare & Kin gives you a strong start to the day for about £10.

Ask DOW on ChatGPTDOW ranks venues with a transparent 100-point Hot Score, recalculated monthly from live Google data. Four signals: Velocity (30 pts) — text reviews over 50 characters in the last 90 days; Baseline (25 pts) — current Google rating relative to 4.0; Recency (25 pts) — 30-day weighted decay on recent reviews; Profile (20 pts) — phone, website, opening hours, description, photos, and category completeness on the Google Business Profile. Reviews written in the country's native language count 1.5× across Velocity and Recency — this is how DOW surfaces where locals eat year-round, not where tourists cluster in summer.
