Halal home cooking done properly is rare in Arenal, and Al Wadi has been doing it since before most places bothered. The portions are the first thing people mention — generous by any measure, and the food arrives looking like someone cared about the plate. Couscous and tajine are what the kitchen is known for, and both carry the kind of depth that comes from cooking from scratch; the shish taouk and baklava round out what regulars keep ordering. The interior is picturesque enough that first-timers pause to take it in.
